Plastic Ban – No More Plastic Bags, Containers and Cutlery for Takeaway Orders

Dear Students and Colleagues,

To take forward our efforts supporting environmental sustainability and creating a green environment, the University has jointly worked with on-campus catering service providers at A-Café and M-Canteen that commencing from 1 September 2023, both caterers will stop providing plastic bags, containers, cutlery for take-away orders.  Instead, paper/degradable bags, containers and cutlery will be provided.  In line with the “user-pays” principle, the caterers will charge HK$2 – $3/set depending on the food/drink purchase. Students and Colleagues are encouraged to bring their own bags, containers and cutlery.

親愛的學生和同事們：

為進一步支持環境可持續發展及營造一個綠色環境，大學已與校內餐飲服務供應商A-Café及M-Canteen聯手協作，由2023年9月1日起，兩間餐飲供應商將停止提供外賣塑料袋、容器及餐具。 取而代之，餐飲服務商會提供紙質/可降解的袋子、容器和餐具。按“用者自付 ”的原則，餐飲服務商會收取費用港幣 2 – 3港元/套，視乎所購買的食物/飲品而定。大學鼓勵學生和同事攜帶自己的袋子、容器和餐具。
